Hi folks! Just giving your webmaster’s notice that I am going to be migrating this site away from Jekyll and to Quartz (or at least trying to.) If you’re subscribed to this site through an RSS feed, this might cause some pages to appear on your reader. Sorry about that if it does happen!

I’m migrating because I found the thing holding me back from updating this site more often is how much overhead is involved. Jekyll is great, but how I have it implemented requires that I update this blog from one location, set up in a specific architecture, update a bunch of layouts and point to the right folders whenever I want to add pictures, and a bunch of small things that add up.

I would like to try out Quartz because it seems to work with the tool I already do a ton of my writing in: Obsidian. Being able to focus on writing and less on the mechanics of publishing would, I hope, make it easier for me to publish the bunch of posts I have drafted but dread figuring out how to upload right now. It will also, I hope, include features that make your reading experience easier, like better linkages, better mobile/desktop views, light/dark modes, and a reader mode to remove the features you don’t need.

Anyway, hope to see you on the other side and big sorry if it pings your RSS feeds with old articles!
